The Effect of Midnight Temperature Maximum Winds on Post‐Midnight Equatorial Spread F

The SAMI3/equatorial spread F (Sami3 is also a model of the ionosphere/ESF) code used to simulate growth equatorial plasma bubbles in presence background wind field based on measured winds. winds exhibit well-known “midnight temperature maximum” (MTM) pattern, which an equatorward occurs simultaneously with cessation zonal wind. MTM often preceded by strong (about 100 m/s). circumstance where are symmetric across equator considered; here meridional component southern hemisphere reverse northern timing pattern relative imposition seed for ESF instability explored. We find that simultaneous occurrence wave and converging can produce post-midnight ESF. further sudden Magnetic mEridional NeuTrAl Thermospheric verifies patterns such as those simulated here, ionosonde data. Results suggest regional-scale measurements would aid prediction signal-disrupting ionospheric bubbles.
